Pasted Graphic 1
1st day - 18nm, Rovinj - Veruda Bay, (uvala Soline, drop anchor)
Rovinj: With its fortified double walls and three Town Gates from the early Middle Ages, Rovinj presents an example of urban architecture of the Mediterranean type. The church of St. Euphemia, with the statue of the patron saint of Rovinj standing on its 60m high bell tower, dominates the town. All the Rovinj coast and the surrounding 22 islands and islets are a protected natural heritage. Besides all the beauties of its hidden corners, this green paradise provides everything a modern tourist may wish for.

2nd day - 27nm, Veruda - Susak, (sandy island, small marina, worth seeing cemetery)
The island of Susak is such a place, just now opening up to the European travel imagination. Long lost in relative isolation from the rest of the Croatian population, it has developed its own rich culture, dialect and traditions. About 40 miles southeast of the tip of the Istrian peninsula, Susak is a little larger than the average Croat island, and is one of the relatively few to have supported a native population for hundreds of years. It has the only sand beach in all of the Croatian islands, and its vineyards produce some of the best wine in the region. It is sunny, lush and untouched.

2nd day, Susak - Ilovik, (village and ruins)
Ilovik is the southernmost inhabited island of the Cres - Losinj archipelago. The present day settlement originated about 200 years ago when farmers from Veli Losinj came to settle permanently here. Ilovik is said to be the island of flowers because almost every house has oleanders, roses and other flowers growing around it. The lovely beaches in the small coves on the island are a true oasis of peace.

2nd day, Ilovik - Mali Lošinj, (capital town of island Losinj, tourist place)
Mali Lošinj is known by its sea tradition, its special climate that cured the first visitor of the climatic medical centre in 1885. This tourist tradition was started and supported by many honourable men of this archipelago. The bridge which is placed at the entering to Mali Lošinj, above the channel which was ditched through the narrowest part of the island, makes two separated peace's of land that are connected by the movable bridge. It makes possible for smaller boats and yachts to enter the port.

3rd day - 18nm, Mali Lošinj - Rab, (many objects of interest, beautiful old town)
The island is one of the most densely wooded islands in the Adriatic and is a veritable botanical exhibition, with plants not native to the island. The Komrcar Park, with its laurel, poplar, cypress, Indian fig tree, and rosemary, pine and hundred-year-old agaves is now the pride of Rab. Its more than 300 freshwater springs provide a valuable water supply to the population of the island--which, in contrast to most of the Adriatic islands, is increasing, in part because of good communications with the mainland. Because of these numerous springs, Rab is considered to be the greenest island in the Adriatic.

4th day - 23nm, Rab - Osor, (narrow straits between islands Lošinj & Cres )
Osor is the small town today but as such completely itself as "a city museum". Its length and straitens as a rampart between the west Adriatic land and the East makes this town the crossing of the roads that go from the West to East part of the islands Cres and Lošinj. A narrow band of few tenths of meter of land, which used to link the two islands Cres and Lošinj, was favourable to trading development and was also creating a safe port. During antic period and Romans ruling Galleys would come and reload their cargoes so that the ships on the other side could take it farther. A channel was ditched through. It was the first movable bridge, which today also serves modern seafarers by making their route shorter.

5th day - 23nm, Osor - Pomer, (nice long bay with reefs and shoals)

6th day - 10nm, Pomer - Pula Marina, (beautiful old town, amphitheater)
Pula: On the southernmost part of the Istrian peninsula, Jason and Medea founded the mythical town Polai, the source of life. Later the Romans changed it into a divine town for the "pleasure of the rich". The Amphitheatre, the Sergii Triumphal Arch, Augustus Temple, The Double and Herculus Gates witness that glorious time. Famous writers and composers (Dante, Thomas Mann, James Joyce, Franz Lehar, and others) were inspired by this town that has existed for three millennia, and where the old meets the new. The area of Pula is magnificent, with country stone houses and modern buildings, quiet huckleberry shade and the view to the culture of mankind.

6th day - 18nm, Pula - Rovinj, (cruising end)

The old town of Porec dates back to Roman times and over the course of two thousand years was destroyed and rebuilt by many different people - Goths, Germanic, Slavs, Venetians and Austrians - and the town's old walls, towers, churches and palaces bear witness to those turbulent events.
